Thank you for your interest in our nursery.  We are an Eco-Friendly nursery situated across 2 sites - Llwynfedw Gardens in the

Heath area of Cardiff & within Llanedeyrn School in the East.  Our staff qualifications far exceed the required CIW levels, and all

staff are first aid trained, hold food hygiene & safeguarding qualifications and undertake regular professional development.  Staff have many years' experience and have gained a wealth of knowledge, particularly  in safeguarding, playwork and outdoor education.

We provide day care and holiday club as well as a wrap around service to local school nurseries in Heath, Birchgrove and Rhiwbina as well as schools in East Cardiff, Cyncoed & Penylan.  We provide a healthy, home cooked lunch, high tea as well as healthy snacks.  We believe in the importance of a healthy balanced menu and grow much of our own food.  Meals are seasonal, healthy and can take into account any dietary requirements.

The aim of our nursery is to follow the principles of Forest School provision and allow children to interact with nature and play outside, growing strong, self-confident and resilient. We also aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment with the highest standard of childcare.

In Llwynfedw Gardens, we are ideally placed within the Green Flag park.  In Llanedeyrn we have 2 dedicated outdoor spaces, including a forest school area.  This allows children to explore outside as much as possible, and children are encouraged to have a voice in deciding on their activities and be inspired by their natural surroundings.  Unlike other nurseries, our outdoor area is accessible all year round by all children.  We do not have scheduled 'outdoor time' - we have free flow between the indoor and outdoor areas at all times.  In addition, we have a large enclosed outdoor playground and, of course, direct access to the Gardens themselves where we can have fun and explore.

With a strong focus on natural education and the outdoor sheltered area we can play outside, whatever the weather.  We follow the principles of the Foundation Phase to link to school activities and to ensure a wide range of educational opportunities for our little learners.  Any activity that can be done inside can also be done outside, we let the children guide their own learning experiences.

We are happy to be part of the Childcare Offer for Wales, which allows parents to claim up to 30 hours of free childcare a week.  For more information and to apply, please click on the following link:
